56th Annual Conference
Just Another Day… in Paradise!

Oklahoma State University | Wes Watkins Center, Stillwater
October 24–26, 2012 | Pre-Conference, October 23, 2012

Dear OMCTFOA Members:

We are so excited about the 56th Annual Conference of the Oklahoma Municipal Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Offi cials. We have had a very busy and productive year. I have had the privilege to work with a wonderful board that has taken on the tasks they were given with gumption. To my Board, thank you for your support.

“Just Another Day in Paradise” is the theme for this year’s conference. We are excited about some changes to the program and flow of the conference. We will start the week on Tuesday with our pre-conference session on “Cash Handling”. Our Annual Conference will begin Wednesday morning with the Opening Ceremony. And this year, our exhibitors and refreshments will be located in the Exhibit Hall East. We encourage you to visit with all our exhibitors and we will have an incentive for you to do so. And yes, there will be a prize.

Wednesday afternoon, all of the sessions will count towards your Institute and Academy credit. Our Public Relations session will be held in the Auditorium where there is plenty of room for everyone. And for our final session of the day, we are thrilled to bring to you a unique opportunity to hear Robert Gates, Former U.S. Secretary of Defense, at the Gallagher-Iba Arena. Wednesday evening is an open evening which will give you an opportunity to visit with friends and sponsors, shop, or enjoy one of Stillwater’s many famous eating venues.

Thursday will be filled with a day of great concurrent sessions. The board took to heart the comments on your evaluations and we have worked very hard to plan sessions to meet your needs. We believe each session will provide you with information that will benefit you and your municipality.

Thursday night – Welcome to Paradise. OMCTFOA in conjunction with the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group have planned a wonderful relaxing evening with lots of fun, music and prizes. Dress for the evening is very casual: tropical shirts, t-shirts and flip flops. There will be a prize for the most fabulous flip flops and one for the most treasured tropical shirt. We will have prizes throughout the evening and even have a trip donated by the Oklahoma State Tourism Department to a State Lodge of your choice.

Friday, we have more great sessions and will conclude the Conference with our Annual Business Meeting. And yes, there will be more door prizes to the very end – but, you must be present to win.

It has been a pleasure serving as your President for 2012. This has been a very rewarding experience and I am honored to have been given this opportunity. I encourage each of you to consider serving on this board. Thank you for supporting your association and I hope to see all of you in October.
