From 2004, OSU has partnered with SAS, a leading provider of business analytics software, to offer very successful datamining and business analytics certificate programs. A primary goal of this conference is to link OSU’s data mining and business analytics certificate programs and students who are trained in analytics using SAS with members of the local and regional business community. SAS Analytics Day will introduce our certificate programs to businesses and allow students and businesses to begin building their professional network.

Dr. Goutam Chakraborty

Dr. Goutam Chakraborty

Dr. Goutam Chakraborty earned his B.Tech (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, PGCGM from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, M.S in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Iowa. He has held managerial positions with a subsidiary of Union Carbide, USA, and with a subsidiary of British American Tobacco, UK. He is currently a professor of marketing at Oklahoma State University and manages a very successful Data Mining Certificate Program in partnership with SAS. Chakraborty has presented numerous programs and workshops to executives, educators, and research professionals in the U.S., Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, Bangkok and India. His research has been published in many scholarly journals such as the Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, etc. He has co-authored the book Contemporary Database Marketing. He has chaired several national conferences including the Direct Marketing Educator’s Conference and the M2007 Data Mining Conference.

Fritz Lehman

Fritz Lehman

Fritz Lehman is a 29 year veteran of SAS Institute where he has had many roles across multiple divisions including Tech Support, Education, R&D, and Consulting. In his current role he oversees all delivery and confi guration of SAS software in the United States as well as delivery of select solutions globally. In addition his teams provide training on the implementation and confi guration of SAS software for consultants in order to ensure a consistent delivery model. Prior to coming to SAS Institute, Mr. Lehman received an undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma and was also the OU assistant men’s and women’s swimming coach.

Vijitha Kaduwela

Vijitha Kaduwela

Vijitha Kaduwela is the Founder and CEO at Kavi Associates, a full service boutique consulting fi rm specializing in delivering custom analytical solutions to their industrial clients. Their customers range from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and represent high-tech manufacturing, fi nancial services, travel and transportation, health care, pharmaceutical and retail industries. Prior to Kavi, Kaduwela was the Director of Analytics at GE Rail Services. His team received the GE Rail Services highest honor: the President’s Award and many prestigious external accolades including a TDWI Best Practice Award. Prior to GE, Kaduwela was with Corporate R&D team at United Airlines. He has his MS in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona and BS in Electrical Engineering from Georgian Polytechnic Institute in Tbilisi Georgia.

Greg Palmer

Greg Palmer

Greg Palmer is a Senior Industry Consultant for the Global Energy Practice in Product Management at SAS Institute in Cary, N.C. Palmer is based in Houston, Texas and within his department contributes to leading thought and developing solutions across the oil and gas industry segments. His experience consists of 20-plus years in oil and gas serving in various business and technology roles with an emphasis in data management across reservoir, drilling and completion and production domains. Prior to joining SAS he worked for companies such as Halliburton, TIBCO-Spotfi re, and EOG Resources and has presented and authored topics on data management (Oil and Gas Journal; SPE-145760). He holds a BS in Management with honors from the University of Phoenix.

Amit Kadam

Amit Kadam

Amit Kadam is currently with Starcom MediaVest Group in Chicago as a Director for Strategy and Analytics. As part of his role, he builds and leads a team of advanced analytics professionals to drive business performance through marketing activation for several key brands at SMG. He also serves as a Global product leader on a successful digital analytics initiative—Pathfi nder at SMG. Kadam’s team is globally infl uential with a cutting edge modeling practice and the active development of custom optimization tools that have continually changed the scope of data analytics in digital media. As a leader in Marketing Analytics, his specialties include marketing mix models, digital analytics and optimization. His current passions are digital media and technology and application of analytics methodologies to measure the business impact of marketing activities. Kadam graduated with a MS in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University, specializing in Operations Research, Quality Control and Statistics.

Anish Koppula

Anish Koppula

Anish Koppula is working at Starcom MediaVest Group as a Media Performance Analyst. He has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University with courses from SAS and OSU Data Mining Graduate Certificate program from the Spears School of Business. Koppula works on digital media marketing efforts for brands like Microsoft, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ally Bank, and Hyatt Corporation. He previously worked as a Data Centre Specialist at the OSU IT Operations and a Process Associate at GE Money Servicing Pvt. Ltd. With strong statistical and analytics background, his passion for business intelligence and predictive modelling is evident from the success of various projects he has been associated with, in the past three years. His areas of expertise have been time series forecasting, generalized linear models and risk analysis with current research focus on cluster analysis and market segmentation. Kopppula is also a SAS Certified Advanced Programmer and a Predictive Modeler with other certifications from JMP, Sun Microsystems, and Google. He was nominated as Session Coordinator for SAS Global Forum 2011 and inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society by Oklahoma State University‘s Graduate College. His keen interest in other software platforms is evident from his signifi cant projects like OSU iPhone App Development and his publication on data acquisition at the International Conference on Avionics Systems.

Neetha Sindhu

Neetha Sindhu

Neetha Sindhu is currently working at Kavi Associates as a Business Analytics Consultant. Sindhu previously worked at Infosys Technologies Ltd as a software engineer. She has her Bachelor’s in Telecommunications Engineering from India and her Master’s in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University with the SAS and OSU Data Mining Certificate. She was employed as a Software Intern at Worth Ave Group Insurance in Stillwater, during which she developed and maintained an iPhone Application. She is also a Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9, Certified Predictive Modeler using SAS Enterprise Miner 6.1 and Teradata 12 Basics certified. Her paper on text analytics has been accepted for SAS Global Forum 2013.

Priyadarshini Sharma

Priyadarshini Sharma

Priyadarshini Sharma is working at SAS Institute as a Senior Associate Analytical Consultant in the U.S. Business Analytics Delivery Team. She is a graduate of Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University, where she majored in Management Information Systems and earned her Master’s degree. Her area of expertise includes In-Memory Analytics, Predictive Modeling, Survival Analysis, Advanced Data Mining Techniques, and Model Management. Prior to SAS Sharma worked as a Regional Analyst for ICICI Bank Ltd, India. She also has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Bharti Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering, Pune, India.

Zubair Shaik

Zubair Shaik

Zubair Shaik is currently working as a Manager Risk Management at American Express Company. He has a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University with SAS and OSU Data Mining Certificate. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology with a major in Electrical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in India. He has four years of professional experience Analytics and IT industry. He is Certified SAS Programmer for SAS® 9 and Certified Predictive Modeler using SAS® Enterprise Miner 6.1. Zubair was awarded Leadership in Action award in December 2012 from American Express. He was also awarded SAS Student ambassador award in 2012 by SAS Institute for his work on Text mining SAS global forum proceedings since 1976. His poster on Analyzing Sentiments Expressed about Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club in Tweets won fi rst prize at the Wal-Mart Analytics student poster competition.
