Certificate Presentation

The Executive Education Partnership is a customized, executive education program developed with input from the organizations participating as partners. This business/academic partnership allows bridges to be built between the educational and business communities. The program is presented by outstanding faculty, all of whom are widely acknowledged as experts in their respective fields. Senior faculty from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma - serving as on-site “hosts” - assure continuity and provide extra opportunities for one-on-one consultation with participants.

TOPICS:

Building a Coaching Culture
Many organizations recognize the value of mentoring and coaching. These tasks are typically given to specific individuals within the organization. Some organizations, however, are considering the creation of an organizational environment where all employees willingly accept personal responsibility for maintaining the organization’s vision –– in other words, they wish to create a “coaching culture.” This session addresses the fundamentals of establishing such a culture, where executive, manager, and peer coaching is commonly accepted.

Business simulation: integration of learned concepts
Decision-making and teamwork are essential leadership skills. Experiential learning is important because we learn best by doing. During the interactive business simulation, you will be involved in making decisions for a multi-billion dollar company. You will be challenged by real-life business situations throughout the program. The results will often be surprising, requiring that you use your business talents in a changing environment. The overall experience will stimulate you to consider the effects of your decisions on the organization, to collaborate with openness to redesign the company, and to develop data on which to base system-wide decisions. A spirit of team dynamics, competition, and integration of concepts learned are skills you can take back with you and apply immediately to your organizational setting.

Characteristics of Highly Effective Organizations
This session will explore some of the common characteristics of highly effective organizations. It will emphasize the role of reward systems, organization design, and teamwork.

Emotional Intelligence: Competencies of Star Performers

Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the capacity for recognizing your own feelings and those of others, motivating yourself, and managing emotions effectively in others and yourself. You will be provided with precise feedback from the Emotional Competence Inventory assessment that can be used to design development plans for improving your own EI.

Executives Guide to Mentoring by Developming Power and Influence
Your employee’s productivity is most directly impacted by your ability to mentor him or her. This session will take a unique look at the mentoring process. It will focus on your ability to influence others during discussions, informal negotiations, and personal interactions. Learn to break through the barriers that often block your message. Develop the power necessary to be an effective and well-received messenger. Learn to avoid conflicts and confrontations. Use bargaining power to your advantage. These goals are achieved by using a step-by-step methodology that identifies all of the important factors that impact your ability to persuade and connect with others around you.

Leading Organizational Change
This session will address the fundamental organizational issues involved in assuring that changes take place successfully within organizations. Whether using incremental or frame-breaking change, small unit change, or system-wide change, you will be exposed to the principles and the processes for continuing to implement changes successfully.

Legal and Ethical Issues Application
Effective management requires coping with an often uncertain legal environment. This session explores the reasons why legal answers are often unclear and suggests ways to deal with that uncertainty. The session also distinguishes situations in which an executive has a social duty to cooperate with the formation and implementation of business laws from situations where mere compliance with those laws is sufficient. Interactive case studies are employed to promote critical discussion.

Managing for Effectiveness: The Role of Strategy and Culture
In this highly interactive session you will use assessments to emphasize the processes managers in highly effective organizations employ to craft and implement strategy. One of the key implementation techniques is to grow a culture that emphasizes performance.

Team Building
Break the Ice | Get Acquainted | Become a Team
Activities designed to build relationships will lay the foundation for networking during this week and in the future. Interactive and challenging, these exercises will help you reach beyond your current comfort level. Using Information on the U.S. Macro economy to guide everyday business decision making This presentation examines various features of the U.S. macro economy with emphasis on how to acquire and to analyze data for decision making. Topical areas include key economic variables that help you understand our future, including demographic trends, household incomes and expenditures, international trade patterns, and energy markets. Throughout the presentation interactive exercises are conducted giving an opportunity for your input. In a growing world economy, learning how to acquire, analyze, and form conclusions from key economic variables is an essential managerial skill.

Using marketing to make Smart deals in your everyday life
Did you ever consider how much of your time you spend “dealing” with customers, fellow workers and family members? If you are like most people, it probably consumes a lot of your time. This seminar will help you to become more skilled at making and executing deals in your work life and your personal life. First, you will be given an understanding of how dealing, or making exchanges, is a part of the fabric of society. Then, you will learn how to analyze both business and personal exchanges and how to make smart exchanges using basic decision analysis techniques. You will learn how to lay the groundwork for long-term exchange relationships, which will help you reach your objectives when dealing with others.
